How To Find The Best Human Design Specialist, Coach, or Reader

How to find the best Human Design Specialist, Reader, or Coach

You keep hearing that you should invest in a Human Design Foundation Reading. It took a while, but you are finally ready to listen to the advice and pull the trigger. Now what?

  • Do you know how to find the best Human Design reader, specialist, expert, or coach?

  • Who is qualified? Who offers value? Who can you trust?

I’ve given some thought to these questions and have some suggestions. I have adapted my blog, How to Find the Right Therapist.

You will get something out of this information if you have:

  1. Been DIYing your Design for months or years, and it’s not making complete sense, or

  2. You have already had a reading or two, but you came away confused about how to use it.

Become an informed consumer

Labels such as Human Design Expert and Specialist can lull you into putting all of your trust into someone you hardly know. A desire to relieve pressure or a bad situation can cause you to bypass reason.

It’s similar to “white coat syndrome.” You might reason that “they’re the doctor. They should know.” Trust me. Having been a hospital nurse, that’s not how that works.

Your first step is to develop the mindset of an informed consumer. Become someone who has done the research before entering an arrangement that includes an exchange of money.

At the bare minimum, know what your Human Design Type is. Find out your profile, authority, and type. Put them into a sentence. For example, be able to tell the coach that you are a 3/5 Splenic Projector or a 5/1 Emotional Generator, etc. Practice saying it until it rolls off your tongue. It is who you are. It is your identity.

Next, reach out to Human Design experts and book consultations with them.

  1. Who do you like and trust in your Human Design communities? Ask them for referrals.

  2. Visit Human Design websites such as Jovian Archive and Quantum Human Design, and look at their specialists. Who do you resonate with? Book a call with them.

Question asked is is there a book or a website which has all of the info to sift through yourself.

What result do you want

You have heard of choosing your own adventure? It’s the same when choosing a Human Design Reader or Coach. Choose the outcome or result you want.

What will you have accomplished by the end of your coaching relationship?

  1. Do you want a reading or coaching that emphasizes and validates your gifts and talents?

  2. Do you want to leave with a sense of relief and permission to rest from the reaching, pushing, and grind of life?

  3. Do you have a specific issue or challenge you want to solve using Human Design?

  4. Do you need help gaining control over your life and holding your boundaries?

  5. Do you need to know what to do after the healing work of therapy?

  6. Do you want a collaborative experience or a directive one?

  7. Do you want a one-to-one experience, a group/community environment, or both?

The bottom line is to be clear about the result you want from a Human Design reading or coaching session.

questions to ask your Human Design Specialist

To gauge the value of services and to validate trust in a prospective Human Design specialist or coach, ask questions that provide information about expertise, specialization, and dedication.

Here are a few questions you might ask:

  1. What is your Human Design?

  2. When did you start studying Human Design?

  3. How did you feel when you first learned your Design?

  4. How did Human Design change your life?

  5. What made you become a reader/specialist/coach?

  6. Have you worked with people with my Human Design type, issue, or challenge before?

    • How did you help them?

  7. Do you have credentials or certifications in coaching, Human Design, or other relational services?*

  • Some of the best healers and coaches have never received formal training. They love what they do and bring a unique passion and love to their work. Helping professions and practices are art forms. It takes years of practice, love for people, and sharp intuitive skills to effect change in others. Trust your intuition and your gut to lead you to the right fit.

trust your intuition during your consultation

The coaching relationship drives the effectiveness of the work.

When I was looking for a therapist, I was fortunate that the first woman who returned my call trust your intuition during the consultation

All things considered, the coaching relationship drives the effectiveness of the work.

When I was looking for a therapist, I was fortunate in that the first woman who returned my call felt like home to me.

I didn’t know what to expect in therapy, so I relied heavily on how she made me feel. I still remember it. I didn’t interview anyone else and to this day. She is still the one I call if I need anything.

What does home feel like?

To me, home feels like comfort food, a comfortable couch, fuzzy slippers, peace, and quiet.

What does home feel like to you?

Keep these prompts in mind during your conversation with your prospective coach:

  1. Do you feel kinship, connection, or chemistry?

  2. Do you feel understood and supported?

  3. Are they curious about you, your experiences, and goals?

  4. Do they seem confident and at ease?

  5. Do you believe that if they didn’t have an answer to a question they would find out and get back to you?

  6. Are you aware of any personal biases that may get in the way of working together? Yours or the coach’s? Do you feel able to ask about unspoken biases? For example:

  • Do you or they have a particular gender, culture, education, or race bias?

  • Do you wonder if the coach has any experience working with your unique problem, culture, gender, race, etc?

Questions about bias may seem shocking or unnecessary, but remember that the coaching relationship drives the effectiveness of the work. Having Human Design in common does not exempt us. It is the world we live in, and it’s best to face it than bury our heads in the sand.

Unconscious bias and prejudice affect trust. They color our facial expressions, body language, tone, and word choices. Our lightening fast thoughts in the moment have energy. They hinder communication in ways we can’t imagine.

They can and will affect the quality of your Human Design reading experience and coaching outcomes.

Conclusion:

You can easily find a Human Design Coach you resonate with when you ask the right questions and reflect on the following:

  1. Connection and rapport create an environment of understanding and caring in the coaching relationships. They affect the quality of the work.

  2. Years of personal HD practice, helping experience and/or certification from a recognized source with a long standing track-record matters. It takes years of conscious effort to understand ones Human Design muchless attempt to guide others.

  3. Think about the result or outcome you want. At the end of your coaching relationship, what will have changed? Do you want a feel good, validating reading? Do you want to know every detail of your Human Design chart? Do you want to know how to use your Human Design to improve your issues and set yourself up for a joyful future?

  4. Take the time to know who you are. At the very least, know your Type, Profile, and Authority. For example, when someone asks me what my Human Design type is, I answer, “I am a 3/5 Splenic Projector.” I don’t stutter. Can you do the same?

  • Being able to speak your Design with confidence is the beginning of owning and embodying it.

These four steps will help you find the best Human Design coach or reader. Even if you are new to Human Design and anxious about getting it wrong, these steps will help you confidently participate in your consultations. You’ll have a fighting chance to get it right.

A Recommendation:

I highly recommend myself as your next Human Design educator and life coach. I learned my Human Design from Karen Curry Parker in 2006. Since then, I’ve been reading Human Design Charts of partners, friends, family, and coworkers. Very few people, then and now, are the same type as I am, so I have learned a lot being their colleague, nurse, therapist, friend, etc.

I am a Human Design Projector. In the Human Design family, Projectors are uniquely qualified to guide, direct, teach, and manage the potential of the Generator type.

I help Generators understand good frustration, avoid the uncomfortable kind, and get what they want out of life.

I have tools and suggestions that help Manifestors, Manifesting Generators, Generators, and Projectors save time, energy, and money.

But first, you have to prove to yourself that you can trust me and the value I offer. I look forward to discussing it with you when you book a complementary call here.
